Course Structure & Pricing

This course is designed to be completed in 21 days, with the checkride scheduled at the end of the course. Below is a typical budget breakdown:

  • 30 hrs ground instruction @ $58/hr – $1,740

  • 35 hrs dual instruction @ $265/hr – $9,275

  • FAA Checkride Fee – $900

 

Estimated Total: $11,915 + tax

Note: Housing, food, transportation, and other expenses are not included. Additional training time, if needed, will be billed at standard hourly rates.

What You Need Before Starting

  • Private Pilot Certificate

What do I need to secure my spot?

A $1,000 deposit is required to secure a spot in the program and schedule your training.

How long does the course take?

The Accelerated IFR Course is designed for 21 days, but the exact timeline depends on your experience and progress. Some students may require additional time to build proficiency.

How is the training structured?

Week 1:
 

  • Ground school, basic IFR flying skills

  • VOR, ILS, RNAV approaches

  • Holds and procedures


Week 2:
 

  • IFR cross-country flights

  • Advanced approaches practice

  • Missed approaches and diversions


Week 3:
 

  • Polishing maneuvers

  • Full simulated IFR flights

  • Checkride preparation and mock checkride

What aircraft will I train in?

We can train in:

  • Cessna 172N (Aspen Pro HSI, Garmin 430) – $255/hr

  • Piper Arrow II (GTN 750, GI275 Attitude Indicator & HSI) – $265/hr

How soon can I schedule my checkride?

The checkrides are scheduled in advance. Typically, your course start date is planned 21 days before your scheduled checkride.

What if my checkride is delayed?

We plan training to align with checkride availability. However, if delays occur due to weather or scheduling conflicts, we will work to reschedule it as soon as possible.

What if I need extra training time?

Some students may require additional training beyond the 21-day course. Additional flight and ground instruction can be scheduled at the standard hourly rate.

Where can I stay during the course?

I can recommend hotels, Airbnbs, and transportation options based on your budget and preferences.

What if I don’t pass my checkride?

If a retest is needed, we will provide additional training to ensure you are fully prepared before your next attempt.
